Principal Environmental Engineer in St. Louis, MO. HGL is a leader in the environmental remediation industry, with over 30 years of experience providing comprehensive engineering and design services by implementing innovative, effective, and
sustainable solutions that address environmental, infrastructure, and natural resource management challenges. HGL provides environmental engineering, remediation, and construction services, as well as Military Munitions Response Program support, to the U.S.
Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Air Force (AF), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and other federal and state government clients. HGL offers a dynamic work environment for creative, energetic professionals.
The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the technical and administrative aspects of environmental remedial designs and oversight associated with remediation of radiologically contaminated media. Additional responsibilities include remedial
action summary report development as well as providing technical expertise for environmental investigation work plans. The successful candidate will also play a key role in the generation of performance statements of work for subcontracted tasks such as the
procurement and installation of excavation shoring systems, utility relocations, and surface restorations. The Principal Environmental Engineer will work closely with an experienced team of geologists, project engineers, computer aided design professionals,
on-staff civil surveyors, and field personnel
Responsibilities and expectations for this position include:
Ability to provide technical support and/or supervision of a variety of remedial designs associated with environmental remediation
Strong technical capabilities in design elements and ability to provide quality review of drawings, designs, calculations, construction specifications, and oversight of field operations and construction.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, to interact with the client, project team, and management.
Familiar with local, state, and federal environmental rules and regulations.
Ability to work successfully on multiple tasks concurrently.
A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in civil construction and environmental remediation.
An in-depth knowledge of managing engineering and construction documents, including construction submittals, civil and environmental engineering designs, construction as-built drawings, etc.
Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office Suite as well as a working knowledge of database management and CAD.
Ability to work in a self-directed, fast-paced, results-oriented environment.
Able to multi-task and be detail oriented.
Strong written/verbal communication and organizational skills.
Demonstrated experience presenting proposals and project results to clients and/or site stakeholders.
A Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related engineering field, from an accredited college or university.
Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Missouri or be able to acquire that license through reciprocity with another state within 60 days of hire.
The successful candidate will be required to pass the installation security checks.
Position requires US Citizenship
A pre-hire drug test and baseline physical is required.
