HydroGeoLogic, Inc. Currently, HGL has a position open for a mid-level Scientist. HGL provides environmental engineering, remediation, and construction services, as well as Military Munitions Response Program support to the U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, U.S. Department of Energy, and other federal and state government clients. HGL is looking for a professional to support two Performance Based Remediation (PBR) Contracts and a pending 5-year contract with NASA Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Central Florida. The work requires full-service environmental investigation and remediation services. Our Florida East PBR includes work at Cape Canaveral AFS (CCAFS), Patrick AFB (PAFB) and Homestead ARB (HARB). The opportunity is for a growth-oriented person that wants to broaden their skills and provide the team support in a variety of areas.


  • Responsible for directing environmental investigations, document preparation, and remediation construction services under the direction of the project and installation managers.
  • Must be a team-oriented person willing to conduct a variety of office and field assignments and write cohesive report sections on the evaluation of investigative and remediation results.
  • The position is based out of our Orlando, FL office but will require the candidate to be available for travel to KSC, CCAFS, PAFB, and HARB. 

Required Skills

  • Environmental field investigation experience and report writing skills, with a goal of learning/expanding their role and taking on more responsibilities
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and other MS Office applications

Required Experience

  • 4+ years of related work experience
  • Performance and oversight of field activities
  • Experience with environmental site operations
  • Monitoring well drilling, logging, installation and sampling
  • Knowledge of and experience with RCRA, CERCLA, DoD, DoE, or USEPA Projects
  • Demonstrate a history of initiative, motivation and creativity
  • Prior geologist experience
  • Must possess strong written and oral communication skills and attention to detail

Required Education

  • BA/BS degree in a field related to Environmental Studies such as Geology, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering

Required Qualifications

  • To perform the duties of this position, a candidate will need to be in good physical health
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds in order to perform field tasks
  • Required to pass the installation security checks and possess or obtain OSHA HAZWOPER certification upon employment
  • Travel, overtime and moderate physical work will rountinely be required


  • A pre-hire drug test is required
  • May require a baseline physical
  • Position requires US citizenship
  • Travel is required
