Description/Job Summary

HydroGeoLogic, Inc. (HGL) has a position open for an Assistant Engineer in the Kansas City area to support HGL’s growing business associated with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Remedial Action Framework (RAF) contracts. HGL is a leader in the environmental remediation industry, with over 30 years of experience providing comprehensive engineering and design services by implementing innovative, effective, and sustainable solutions that address environmental, infrastructure, and natural resource management challenges. HGL provides environmental engineering, remediation, and construction services, as well as Military Munitions Response Program support to EPA, U.S. Department of Defense (DoD), U.S. Air Force (AF), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), and other federal and state government clients. Responsibilities/Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for execution of environmental field tasks and related office work, including work plan and report preparation under the direction of a project manager. Tasks may include engineering cost calculations, development of engineering drawings, data collection/environmental sampling, investigation and engineering studies reports, and cost estimation.

Required Skills

Must demonstrate a history of responsibility, initiative, motivation and creativity. Must possess strong written and oral communication skills, and attention to detail. Must also be willing to participate in all project tasks including but not limited to field work, data analysis and report preparation. Proficient in MS Word, Excel and other MS Office applications.

Required Experience

This is an entry level position and generally requires 0-2 years of related work experience. Those applying directly out of college must be able to demonstrate a knowledge of procedures necessary to successfully perform the responsibilities of the position.

Required Education

The Assistant Engineer position requires a minimum of a BS or BA degree in a field related to Environmental Studies or Construction such as Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Chemical Engineering. The particular degree needed may vary with each position. 

Required Qualifications

To perform the duties of this position a person will need to be in good physical health and be able to lift up to 30 pounds in order to perform field tasks. Field tasks may take place in environments which include rugged terrain and weather extremes. The successful candidate will be required to possess or obtain OSHA HAZWOPER certification upon employment. Travel, overtime and moderate physical work are routinely required.

Details

A pre-hire drug test and baseline physical are required.
