Description/Job Summary

HGL (HydroGeoLogic, Inc.), is a full-service environmental science, engineering, and construction firm with over 30 years of experience providing environmental restoration solutions to federal, state, local, and private sector clients. HGL is one of the few companies that remain committed to research and development, offering a dynamic work environment for creative, energetic professionals.  Currently HGL has a position open for a mid-level environmental Project Manager in its Philadelphia, PA office. This is a new position, in a growing location/company, with high career development potential.
 

Responsibilities/Duties

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and working on a variety of projects and meeting milestones for a range of remedial investigations; feasibility studies; designs and construction; operations; and site closure.

Responsibilities include developing, budgeting, implementing, tracking and managing projects for EPA and other government clients.  Will manage and lead project teams.  Must be able to communicate effectively with clients, regulators, and team members.  Will also be responsible for cost estimate development and execution, and must be able to execute multiple projects and tasks concurrently.

Tasks may include calculations, overseeing the development and review of maps, design drawings, and specifications, data collection, data entry and analysis, oversight of field operations, project management, cost estimation, and collection of environmental field samples on occasion. Periodic business travel is required. Scope of travel may vary with different projects.

  • Ability to work successfully independently, as a member of a team, and as a leader.

Required Experience

The Staff Environmental Project Manager position requires a minimum of 5 years of related work experience which should include experience managing remedial investigations, feasibility studies, remedial design, LTRA, and/or remedial action construction for EPA projects. 

The successful candidate will demonstrate a history of responsibility, initiative, motivation and creative problem solving. Must have adequate experience in field work, specification/development, project management, data analysis, and report preparation. This mid-level position will pull from prior experience, but offer ample opportunity to develop new and stronger project management skills.
 

Required Education

A BS/BA degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Geology, or a related environmental field of study is required.

Required Qualifications

Good physical health and the ability to lift 30 lbs are required for the safe completion of field tasks.
A pre-hire drug test and baseline physical will be conducted.
Due to possible site locations this position requires U.S. citizenship.
