   HGL (HydroGeoLogic, Inc.), is a full-service environmental science, engineering, and construction firm with over 27 years of experience providing environmental restoration solutions to federal, state, local, and private sector clients. HGL offers a dynamic work environment for creative, energetic professionals. Currently, HGL has a position open for a Field Technician 2.

Responsibilities/Duties

The position requires the ability to execute field activities and provide input to field project deliverables (daily reports, field measurements, etc.).  The individual should have the ability to interact effectively with the public and base personnel. They will provide input to technical reports including data summaries and tables.  The position may require the ability to work in extreme (very hot to very cold) environments. Requires the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of gear.  Some experience with sampling pumps, DO meters, water level meters, PIDs, and other field sampling equipment required. Construction, mechanical, plumbing or electrical experience is a plus.  Must be detail-oriented with the ability to record data between instruments and field sheets or tablets and organize, pack, and ship environmental samples.  Field documentation will be detailed and 100% complete, maintained in a neat and organized fashion, and legible to others This person will interface with other field personnel including environmental scientists and engineers and support personnel.  The individual must be able to learn, understand, and implement standard HGL policies and procedures.  Safety is a key element for this position. The individual will be reliable and with good work ethic such that they will show up on the job site or at the office as scheduled. 

Required Skills

High School diploma or equivalent. Ability to move or lift objects of 50 lbs. or more, as necessary. Able to successfully use environmental instruments (PID, DO, multimeters, etc.) and normal field tools. Experience with Microsoft Suite.

Required Experience

A minimum of 1-2 years performing in related areas of responsibility.

Required Education

High School diploma or GED plus a minimum of 1-2 years additional relevant training and current HAZWOPER certification.

Details

 A pre-hire drug test is required. Required to pass a fit for duty baseline physical. Position requires US Citizenship to gain access to military installations. Willingness to travel 70-80% of the year on jobs lasting several weeks or more.
