HGL offers a dynamic work environment for creative, energetic professionals. Currently, HGL has a position open for a Field Technician IV.
The position requires the ability to organize and plan for field activities and complete field project deliverables (daily reports, measurements, etc.). This must also be combined with the ability to deal with the interaction with the public and base personnel,, schedule requirements,, and budget restraints inherent in all environmental field activities. The position may require the ability to work in a variety of varying extreme (very hot to very cold) environments Some assignments may require the ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds of gear. Demonstrated experience performing multimedia sampling (i.e. air, water, and soil) and working on plumbing and electrical systems or remediation systems is a plus. A strong indicator of success for this position is the demonstrated ability to plan for and coordinate a field mobilization to various locations. This person may oversee other field personnel. The individual must be able to learn, understand, and implement standard HGL policies and procedures. Safety is a key element for this position. The most important requirement for this position is the ability to provide an immediate contribution (with minimal on-the-job training) to new and/or on-going field activities, to conduct all work in a safe manner adapting to current Health and Safety plans and Accident Prevention plans, and to properly implement existing field procedures and work plans. The position requires that all field documentation will be detailed and 100% complete, maintained in a neat and organized fashion, and legible to others. The individual will be reliable and with good work ethic such that they will show up on the job site or at the office as scheduled.
High School diploma plus a minimum of 2 years additional relevant training and current HAZWOPER certification.
A pre-hire drug test is required. Positions require a fit for duty baseline physical. Some positions may require US Citizenship.
