Currently, HGL (HydroGeoLogic, Inc.) is seeking a Senior Remediation Engineer to join our team in Denver, CO. Responsibilities/Duties

The responsibilities and expectations of the Senior Remediation Engineer will include one or more of the following on a routine basis:

  • Ability to provide technical support and/or supervision of a variety of in-house remedial design projects. This may include designing or providing senior technical design oversight for pump and treat, soil vapor extraction, air sparging, dual phase extraction, and thermal remediation systems; and a variety of in-situ biological and chemical treatment approaches.
  • Strong technical capabilities in design elements and ability to provide quality control reviews/oversight of calculations, as-built drawings/maps, and specifications; oversight of field operations and construction; and subcontractor procurement and management.
  • Ability to develop project budgets based on scope and develop project schedules to meet performance and pay milestones.
  • Ability to direct, manage, and lead project teams to meet project budget and schedule.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with clients, regulators, project team members, and company management.
  • Ability to support business development efforts, including scoping and developing cost estimates for competitive procurement.
  • Ability to successfully execute multiple projects and tasks concurrently.


Periodic business travel is required. Travel is anticipated to consist of visits to client offices and project sites. Travel is expected about 20% of the year

Required Experience

  • Eight plus years of directly relevant experience, which must include extensive experience managing environmental design, investigation, remediation, and/or construction projects.
  • Experience working on DoD, EPA, and/or Department of Energy contracts.
  • Demonstrated experience developing remedial technical approaches for complex performance-based remediation proposals and projects.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving project objectives to include site closeout, response complete, and remedy in place on DoD performance-based remediation projects.
  • Strong technical writing, organizational, and oral communication skills required. The successful candidate will show directly relevant experience that demonstrates a history of responsibility, initiative, motivation, and creative problem solving.
  • Must also be able to manage and oversee project technical tasks ranging from fieldwork and field operations; development of design drawings and specifications; and data management, evaluation, and report preparation.

Preferred Experience

  • Knowledge of the CERCLA and RCRA Corrective Action processes.
  • Using AutoCad and preparing construction specification with common software.
  • In depth understanding of fluid and air flow in piping systems and system electrical and control systems.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard SCADA, PLC and remote access software systems.
  • Design, installation and operation of systems used to treat emerging contaminants such as PFAS.
  • Understanding of and experience implementing Value Engineering and Green and Sustainable Remediation processes with proven ability to design sustainable systems that use natural and energy resources efficiently, reduce negative impacts to the environment, and reduce waste to the extent possible.

Required Education

A Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering degree.

Required Qualifications

This Senior Remediation Engineer position requires a PE certification in addition to the educational requirements.
